History

Century Bank was founded on April 27th, 1984 and formally began operations on April 1, 1985. Mr. Barry Florescue, a Florida businessman based in Delray Beach, bought Century Bank in 1988 by purchasing 99.9% of all common shares outstanding. The bank completed 1988 with $104 million in assets. In August of 1993 Century Bank purchased a building at 1680 Fruitville Road, Sarasota, to house its Downtown Office and Operations Center.

The bank has continued a healthy rate of growth and currently holds more than $940 million dollars in assets. It has nine branch locations in the state of Florida.
